I just used two r3d footage from the red website available here. My issue is the BLACKMAGIC RAW format is the only raw format so far giving me those issues. I know better graphic card = better performance. Im sorry not trying to sound rude here, but I don't think you guys understand the real issue. If you don't have a Vega, you have a rather old GPU that's pretty weak on the compute side. The Arri setting you refer too is project raw settings and they are automatically allocated based on clip type so no impact here.Ĭonsidering low bitrate at 8:1, I think a 6 core I9 and 4gb GPU combination should handle a 4k clip with a few color node. The weakest link in the chain dictates the best speed. But remember, if something else is slowing the timeline processing path down, like the GPU selection, there is no point in using more CPU to decode frames that cant move faster through the pipeline. So hopefully Grant addresses this in the near future. Maybe follow a cue from Arnold Renderer on macOS.Īs per my new settings my machine is fully capable of playing these 4k 8:1 raw files at 24fps on a 4k DCI timeline, graded. Not to sound arrogant or ungrateful but it think there is an issue if your computer system drops in framerate while just using 15% of CPU. It was set to Auto.īut I believe this is really a software issue and Blackmagic Design has a great opportunity here to improve on it. it was on Arri Raw by default,ĭisabled highlight recovery on clips that had no highlights to recover Set Camera Raw Settings to Blackmagic RAW.
